Chidush: Recognizing Innovation in Jewish
Education

Recognizing local educators who creatively design and
execute innovative Jewish educational experiences and
share them with the community.
Dear Educator:
This year's Chidush awards are motivated by the desire
to improve the resources available to all educators at
HaSifria, Boulder's Jewish Community Library and Resource
Center. Please consider submitting your innovative
teaching ideas for inclusion in the teacher resource center.
How to Apply:
All applications must be submitted electronically and
are due by January 16, 2004. Please follow
these steps:
Eligibility:
Past, present, and future Jewish educators and/or
creative thinkers are encouraged to submit ideas that
inspire student's commitment to Jewish values and love
of Jewish learning. You may submit up to 3 ideas
for consideration by the Chidush committee.
Timelines:
- January 16, 2004 - submission deadline for lesson
plan summaries
- Mid-February 2004 – notify those selected for full
lesson plan submission
- April 2, 2004 - replicable lesson plans due to HaSifria
- April 22, 2004 - the Chidush "Sweetening Jewish
Education" Event!
Recognition:
If your idea is selected for inclusion, you will be
asked to follow specifications for turning your idea into
a replicable lesson plan format. Those who are selected
and submit their completed lesson plan to HaSifria will
receive:
- A $360 stipend to help compensate you for your time
and efforts sharing your innovative idea for the benefit
of our the community.
- A donation of $180 made in your name to the Boulder
Jewish non-profit organization of your choice.
- A donation of $180 made in your name to HaSifria to
purchase curriculum materials.
- An honor at the Chidush Event on April 22, 2004.
